Summary

Your journey begins in Negombo, a spirited coastal town just minutes from the airport. Stroll along sandy beaches, wander through colonial forts and canals, and take in the vibrant, lively colours of local temples before unwinding with a refreshing king coconut in hand.

From there, step back in time at Anuradhapura, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Wander among centuries-old stupas, sacred shrines, and the legendary Bo Tree: a place of peace and persisting history.

In Sigiriya, climb the famous Lion Rock Fortress for breathtaking views and explore its ancient frescoes and gardens. Then discover the allure of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s medieval capital, before heading out on an unforgettable Minneriya National Park safari to witness wild elephants roam freely.

Your adventure continues onwards in Kandy, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, watch traditional Kandyan dancers, stroll around the tranquil lake, and lose yourself in the scents of spice gardens and the beauty of the Royal Botanical Gardens.

On the way to the south coast, meet ginormous wonders at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, and see where Sri Lanka’s world-famous tea comes from with a tour (and tasting) at a tea plantation.

In Mirissa, set sail on a whale-watching cruise in search of blue whales, before trailing the cobblestone streets of the historic Galle Fort, where European architecture meets island artistry.

End your trip in Colombo, with the option to explore its markets, colonial landmarks, and seaside promenades before heading home, your heart (and camera roll) full of memories.
